Marruecos está de fiesta y es la revelación del mundial

Marruecos está reescribiendo su propia historia en Qatar 2022. 

El conjunto africano venció en tanda de penales a su similar de España, dando así una de las campanadas del actual Mundial, que de esas historias ya tiene varias. A pesar de ser considerada una sorpresa, el conjunto marroquí hizo todo lo posible por sentirse como local durante el duelo. Las tribunas del Education City Stadium se pintaron de los colores africanos.

España se presentó como el equipo favorito para acceder al quinto partido. La Furia Roja quedó como el segundo puesto de su Grupo E, donde también se esperaba que arrasara y solo pudo colarse hasta la segunda posición. Marruecos, que en toda la Copa del Mundo solo ha recibido un gol, se supo cuidar durante los 120 minutos de juego y, por si fuera poco, se presentaron a la tanda de penaltis con mucha seguridad, como si el destino les hubiera dicho al oído lo que estaba a punto de suceder.

Por su parte, España parecía que nunca se había enfrentado a escenarios tan hostiles. En las gradas se privaban los gritos europeos y los cánticos marroquís se acrecentaban cada vez más. Los Leones de Atlanta aprovecharon el apoyo de sus aficionados y supieron sobreponerse hasta la última instancia.

Yassine Bounou se convirtió en el héroe de la tanda. Primero, vigiló de cerca el primer penal de España, cobrado por Pablo Sarabia y que se estrelló en el poste. Momentos después, se encargó de atajar los disparos lanzados por Carlos Soler y Sergio Busquets. Sus acciones lo llevaron a convertirse en el hombre del partido y fue reconocido por todos sus compañeros. Aunado a todo ello, Achraf Hakimi cerró la tanda con una soberbia definición a lo panenka.

Marruecos tiene todos los motivos para no parar de celebrar su pase a los cuartos de final. Ahora tendrá que esperar a su rival que saldrá del duelo entre Portugal y Suiza.
